Sometimes, when our clients are undertaking a long and complex journey to wellness, we recommend they also have a peer counselor in their corner. Peer coaches are mental health professionals whose greatest strength is their lived experiences. Peer coaches come from a variety of backgrounds. They have been where are our clients are, which gives them a unique perspective on client care.

Peer coaches often have more availability and accessibility than our providers. Often, if we feel that our clients would benefit from daily, or near-daily, contact with a like-minded professional, we will refer them to a peer coach.
Peer coaches provide emotional support, community outings, case management, and help with practical every day problems.
We recommend a peer coach for clients with the following challenges:
- Complex addiction problems
- Recent incarceration
- Lack of a social support network
- Complex trauma
- Lack of community resources
- Current or recent homelessness
We partner with Freedom Recovery Co., a 501c(3) non-profit organization, to provide our clients with the opportunity for peer coaching.
